Björketorp, Johannishus ridge, photo: Thomas Persson, Blekinge Museum“Powerful runes secretly i hid here, powerful runes. Anyone who violates this memorial is constantly plagued by arghet (“angryness”, social agitation / rejection). Treacherous death will befall him. I trace destruction.” So reads the inscription on the more than four feet high stone at Björketorp. With its two flanking attendants Björketorp Stone is one of the country’s most powerful rune stone monuments. The inscription is from the late600’s AD. There is also a burial ground with two types of stone circles (domarringar and stensättningar) and standing stones.
